Support Request: Cannot install

Description

Hello,

We are a large retailer trying to trial sitekiosk for a in store kiosk and digital signage project that needs to be deployed in 200 locations as a pilot. Attempting to install on Windows 8.1 throws and error. " Error reading setup initilization file" We are running Windows 8.1 Pro. Running as administrator local.

Any help would be appreciated. We are looking to test and make a decision within a week.

Hello, the error you are receiving is a generally common error being broadcasted from your Windows Installer program:


Typically this error means one of two things.

1. The application cannot install because you have insufficient privileges to install applications. This can often be corrected by running the exe using the "Run as Administrator" windows option. 2. The download file gets corrupted. Sometimes this can happen, especially if your internet connection is slow and your anti-virus software is scanning the file during the download process. Try deleting the exe file from your downloads folder and download the trial again. You may also want to consider temporarily disabling your internet anti-virus scan.

- wnload all available updates from Windows and install.
